Our Scouting Story
Our family has been involved with Pack 117 for about 13 years. We started when our oldest child was just six years old, and he is now in college. All four of our children have had the opportunity to be part of the pack, and our youngest is now entering her final year before moving on to Scouts.
My Why
We have stayed involved because our children genuinely love Scouting and everything it has taught them. Through their experiences, they have learned about a wide variety of subjects while building confidence, leadership skills, responsibility, and independence.
About Me
I work in sales, and my wife is a school counselor, and we have both thoroughly enjoyed being part of the Scouting experience. It has been more than just an activity for our children—it has been an experience that has benefited our entire family.
Our advice to anyone considering joining Scouting
We would encourage any family considering Scouting to give it a try. It has enriched our children’s lives in so many ways, and we are incredibly grateful for the memories, friendships, and lessons our family has gained along the way.

Our Scouting Story

Why I Stay Involved
Scouting has become such a meaningful part of our family’s life. I’ve loved watching our children grow through the experiences Scouting provides—not only learning about the outdoors and a variety of new subjects, but also building confidence, leadership skills, responsibility, and independence.
After all these years, it’s been wonderful to see how much Scouting has given our family. The friendships, memories, and lessons we’ve gained along the way are things I will always treasure.
About Me
I’m a school counselor, and I’ve truly enjoyed being part of the Scouting experience alongside my family. Watching our children discover new things, challenge themselves, and grow into who they are has been one of the most rewarding parts of our Scouting journey.

If your family is considering Scouting, I encourage you to give it a try. You never know where the journey will take you. For our family, it has become so much more than an activity—it has been a place where our children have grown, made lifelong memories, built friendships, and learned lessons that will stay with them long after their time in Cub Scouts.
