Pack Hikes
Pack 117 strives to get our Scouts and families outdoors and enjoying the adventures that await us in the great outdoors! One way we do that is through our monthly Pack Hikes offered throughout the regular scouting season.
Some days, only a couple of families may join us. Other times, we have a great-sized group hitting the trail together. But no matter how many people come along, there is always an adventure waiting!
Our Pack Hikes are a great opportunity to explore local trails, enjoy nature, spend time together, and create memories as a Pack.
Nothing like a little morning exploration at the McNary Wildlife Nature Area in Umatilla, OR! We had so much fun discussing the different plants and birds we spotted along the way.
One of the highlights was getting to quietly watch a bird nesting in her nest. I’m especially proud of our scouts, who without any prompting, started helping clean up the area by gathering garbage they found along the trail — including fishing bait, line, and hooks.
It was a great example of Scouts living the values of stewardship, kindness, and leaving nature better than we found it.
