When did you first become involved with Scouting?
I Orgininally started my scouting adventure with my daughter as a Girl Scout. We participated for 9 years before moving on. Once my son was old enough to begin his scouting adventure we joined pack 117 at the end of 2022
What is your favorite scouting memory?
My favorite scouting memory so far has been watching my son grow and the excitement at different camps over the summer.
What do you think is the most beneficial part of Scouting?
I think the mose beneficial part of Cub Scouts is learning how to work together and help others. It teaches kids responsibility, teamwork, and confidence while still having fun.
What would you say to somebody that is looking into joining Scouts?
Id tell them that Scouts helps kids build confidence, respect and a sense of responsibility. Its not just about camping - its about learning values, working with others, and growing into strong, capable young people.
Anything you want to add?
A valuable skill I've learned since starting my Scouting adventure is how to safely remove a fishing hook from someones skin. My son and I had the chance to use that skill over the summer when a friend got hooked, and it was rewarding to know we could help. Thanks to what we learned in Scouts, we were able to take care of it right there and continue enjoying our camping trip without a hospital visit.
